IQ Therapeutics B.V., Groningen, the Netherlands, announced today that it has obtained an equity investment from DSM Venturing, the corporate venturing unit of Royal DSM N.V. IQ Therapeutics is a therapeutic spin-out company of IQ Corporation B.V. and develops antibody based products for biodefense and for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. DSM Venturing will hold a significant minority share in IQ Therapeutics.

On June 1st, 2007, the Eijkman Winkler Center for Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Inflammation of the University Medical Center Utrecht, the department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of the Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam and IQ Corporation have started a Top Institute Pharma project on the joint generation of a non-antibiotic-dependent treatment strategy for Klebsiella pneumoniae infections. The project agreement was signed by the partners on April 20, 2007.

Dutch biopharmaceutical company IQ Corporation (IQ) announced today that it has received a grant of €1 million from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs for further development of its anthrax antitoxin human monoclonal antibody (IQNLF) program.

“The ‘Uitdagerskrediet’ enables us to take the IQNLF development program to the stage of file submission at the FDA” says Roland Lageveen, IQ’s Chief Executive Officer. “The IQNLF is the lead product of IQ’s therapeutic developments and will be our first human monoclonal antibody in the clinic. With this financial support we expect to file for registration by the end of 2007”. The biodefense product is developed with contributions from US and Dutch governmental organizations.
